Ansel Elgort has really made a name for himself over the last year. Elgort, whose first film was the 2013 remake of Carrie, has had a 2014 to remember. He starred in Divergent, Fault In Our Stars, and Men, Women, and Children all in the last 12 months. He can now add another another film to his impressive resume.
Elgort is in early talks to star in the Edgar Wright film, Baby Driver. The actor beat out the likes of Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson, Perks of Being a Wallflower) and John Boyega (Attack The Block) for the role. Wright has directed films such as Hot Fuzz, Shaun Of The Dead, and The World’s End. This new project is the first since Wright’s departure from Marvel Studios Ant-Man, which the director left due to creative differences.
Wright and Elgort have never worked together, which makes the decision quite a surprise, especially when Elgort’s competition, Boyega, has previously worked with Wright on the supremely underrated film, Attack The Block. The film, which has no firm release date, will push Elgort further into Hollywood mega-star status. You can catch Elgort in the upcoming Divergent sequel, Insurgent, which opens in March.
