I have always been intrigued by things being one way in my head and then it turning out to be completely different later on. So I decided to write about Mandela Effects and to see how many other people remember it the way I did. Here is a definition of Mandela Effects and the history behind it. Mandela Effects are an observed phenomenon in which a large segment of the population misremembers a significant event, memory, fact, or thing that supposedly did not happen or was not the way they remember it. The person who coined this phrase was Fiona Broome and it was in 2010 when she was attending a conference in which a large number of people in attendance shared her memory that Nelson Mandela had died in prison during the 1980s. In actuality Mandela was freed from prison in 1990 and was very much alive at the time of the conference.
Quantum Theory enthusiasts believe that Mandela effect presents evidence that there are indeed multiple universes and they can all exist at the same time. This belief is based on the idea that within each universe, parallel realities and alternate versions of events and objects are present and mixing with the timeline.
So I decided to do a series on Mandela Effects and numerous things I remember being a certain way and the Mandela Effects that have changed.
Mandela Effect #1 Luke, I am your father!
If you are like me you have seen Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. If you did then you remember like me that Darth Vader says “Luke, I am your father”. But if you go back and re-watch it now the line is actually “No, I am your father”. Which way do you remember it? Comment below and see if we jumped from the same alternate reality.
Mandela Effect #2 Mirror, Mirror on the wall.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was always a staple in my house as we were a huge Disney household. If you have seen the movie than you remember the Evil Queen as asking Mirror, Mirror on the wall, Whose the fairest one of all? Well imagine you go back now and watch it and it says Magic mirror on the wall. I don’t know about you but that doesn’t even roll off your tongue right.
Mandela Effect #3 Longest River in North America…is not Mississippi
If you are like me you always associate the longest river in the world as the Nile and the longest in the US as Mississippi, well according to research it was never the Mississippi it was the Missouri river. I don’t know about this one I am a little disappointed in this one.
Stay Tuned as I plan to write at least one of these a week also if you have some you want me to feature comment below.
