If you serve in the military and are honorably discharged or retire, you can also expect to receive a pension. Just 20-years of service can get you a full pension, which means you could retire in your 40’s.

If you’ve got a thirst to do some traveling, the military can be a great way to satisfy your wanderlust. The military has operations that function all around the world. As long as you aren’t too picky about where you travel, it’s a great way to do it for free. But one always has a mission to accomplish with each of the assigned jobs. Also, they are expected to follow tiniest of details as far as rules, SOPs & safety measures be it wearing safety gears like kevlar helmet in action zones or wearing safety helmets while traveling.

Education

College tuition rises every year. Surprisingly, there are a few colleges left where tuition is still free, but military colleges are some of the best. If you commit to serving in a branch of the military, you can get your education at no cost.

If you have your eye on a specific, non-military college, you could still get a huge discount. With the GI Bill, you can receive a monthly living stipend and full tuition, as long as you serve for at least 36 months before leaving the military. It can even be transferred to spouses and children!
