The Indianapolis Colts travel to Colorado to take on the Denver Broncos this week, in what I will dub the “Former Peyton Manning Team Bowl.” I wonder if Papa John will be in attendance. Anyways, all kidding aside, these two teams were on the opposite side of the spectrum last week. The Broncos won opening night by defeating the Carolina Panthers 21-20 thanks to a missed Graham Gano field goal, while the Colts lost a shootout to the Detroit Lions 39-35.

With the Broncos being at home, and seen as the more complete team, it comes as no surprise they are 6 point favorites. CJ Anderson showed he could carry the offense last week, and that was against the top notch Panthers defense. This week Anderson will get the lowly Colts defense, and should have no problem running wild. The passing game may even get in on the fun, as the Colts simply have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Trevor Siemian did not have to do much in week one, and honestly should just be handing it off to Anderson once again this week. But if he has to throw, it should be against a much weaker opponent.

The Colts will need to rely on Andrew Luck and the offense if they wish to stay in this one. But things are not looking great for them considering they were home last week and could not hang with the Lions. And the Broncos have a much more potent defense than the Lions. Andrew Luck is going to be on the run and his back a lot more in this one than he was against Detroit.

Given the Colts need their offense to produce to be in this game, and the Broncos defense is going to be chasing Luck all over, I think Anderson and the gang from Denver can pull this out by more than six points. And it will be a game that is not a barn burner like the Colts game was last week either, meaning the under could be the way to go.
