Reports are surfacing from the Washington Post that Joakim Noah plans to sign with the New York Knicks for $18M per year. The length of the contract has not been made public yet but Noah will team with ex Chicago Bulls teammate Derrick Rose to form one heck of a starting unit that already features Carmelo Anthony and 2nd year player Kristaps Porzingis.
Noah who was injured for the majority of last season should provide a defensive presence in the paint the Knicks have been missing since the departure of Patrick Ewing. Noah, 31 has averaged 9 points and 9 rebounds throughout his career but has been an All Star twice. With the Knicks he will not be asked to score much but provide the dirty work necessary to take pressure off Rose, Anthony and Porzingis.
Great pick up for the Knicks.
