When a player enters the NFL they often do things that are not wise. Some players get involved with drugs, some spend all their money and some get weapons. That is the case with Aqib Talib, starting CB for the Denver Broncos. He recently was involved in an incident with a gun. He ended up shooting himself in the leg and now may face an 8 game suspension as a result.

Aqib Talib is a strong piece of the Denver Broncos number 1 ranked defense. Chris Harris Jr. and Talib make up the starting corners and the main parts of the “No Fly Zone.” Without the experience of Talib there is now a hole in the zone. How does this play into the Broncos defensive plans?

The Broncos would have to rely on youth to fill in the hole in the zone. Bradley Roby and Kayvon Webster would have to pick up the slack. However, can they sustain for 8 games? They are both very qualified to do so but if pressed into extensive action will they hold up? The Broncos would have to get creative in coverage with these 2 seeing extensive action.

If Roger Goodell does give Aqib Talib 8 games it would be a statement suspension. It would also test the depth and skill of the Broncos top ranked defense. Nothing is set in stone and we could see a lesser sentence. What is looking certain is, there will be some time that, the Denver Broncos will be without the services of starting CB Aqib Talib.
