Nelson is a Georgetown University Alumnus where she graduated with her MPS degree in Sports Industry Management with a concentration in Digital Media, Strategic Marketing and Communications.
The multi-talented Maryland native – who was officially invited as a guest of honor to the White House – is a graduate of the University of Maryland-College Park and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism and a certificate in African-American studies.
Nelson was mentored by New Jersey-born Award-winning Connecticut-based Broadcast Journalist/Reporter Michael T. Lyle, Jr.
The amiable Broadcast Journalist/Reporter is a native of Montgomery County, MD and a Clarksburg High School alumnus. Nelson’s appearance at the White House came via the Washington Mystics WNBA championship ceremony and their players Olympic practices. The prodigious ever-rising 25-year-old “Listen In With KNN” Broadcast Journalist has also officially served as a Reporter for Laurel TV, The Roundball Report, Sideline/Multimedia Reporter for HSRN and Washington D.C. Metro Area Broadcast Media. Nelson also claimed the distinct honor of claiming the Ms. Maryland African-American 2015 title.
In addition to success in the world of media and communications, Kelsey N. Nelson has embarked on a positive series of community-related philanthropy projects which give back, inspire and empower lives such as Nelson’s non-profit organization with fellow University of Maryland-College Park students and alumni entitled “Books Breaking Borders: Books to End Educational Bankruptcy, which ensures that Nelson’s impactful and unique voice is heard beyond just a microphone.
Relating to Nelson’s charitable initiative “Books Breaking Borders: Books to End Educational Bankruptcy”, the Marylander’s ultimate goal is to essentially reduce illiteracy rates amongst minority children, thus ensuring that the United States polarizing educational system leaves no child behind.
However, since the inception of FOX Sports Radio 96.9/1340 AM’s popular show “Listen In With KNN”, hosted by Nelson, the Maryland-born presenter has upped the ante vociferously.
