Cleveland, O.H. –

The Cleveland Browns signed former Buffalo Bills wide receiver, David Nelson. At 6’5″ 217 pounds and due to his height gets mistaken for a tight end. He does not have the block or have the build for the position. He adds a nice complement to the emerging second year player, Josh Gordon.

His 2012 season ended earlier as he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in week once against the New York Jets. Nelson gives Brandon Weeden another large target to throw to and will come back strong from the injury. In 32 games for the Bills, he caught 94 passes for 1,042 yards and eight touchdowns.

Not only does he play well at his position he also does amazing charity work with the recovery effort that’s ongoing in Haiti. This gets done with clothing drives and fundraisers to help the neediest. If Browns fans get to know him, Nelson will endear himself to the fans.

  1. Big, tall receiver. He fits Norv Turner’s offense well. He’s not a fantasy option right now, but if healthy, and if he grabs the #2 WR job on CLE, we can see some sneaky fantasy production.
