Thanks to the one-year ban on WR Josh Gordon for substance abuse, uncertainty on the return of Miles Austin and the loss of TE Jordan Cameron in free agency, the Cleveland Browns roll the dice in selecting a big and physical wideout in 6’4 210-pounder Jaelen Strong out of Arizona State.
After mocking West Virginia wide receiver Kevin White to the Jacksonville Jaguars at No.3 in the Draft Utopia Group Mock Draft here, I have the Cleveland Browns selecting Strong 12th overall after White, DeVante Parker and Amari Cooper already off the board.
With a skill position that is seriously lacking in offensive firepower, Cleveland needs to give Josh McCown/Johnny Manziel a big target to throw too downfield. Strong fits the bill in what the Browns are looking for as he caught 82 passes for 1,165 yards and ten touchdowns.
With other needs such as offensive line, defensive line and linebacker, all of them are big—but the lack of a big and physical playmaker such as Strong is something that the Browns can ill afford to address in later rounds, after failing to address the need at WR last year.
