As draft day approaches us, multiple teams are sitting in their “Draft War Room”, preparing deals, going through mock drafts, and answering phone calls.
And if I were the Chicago Bulls, I would be making multiple phone calls, shopping their best player Jimmy Butler, but let me explain to who and why. The first team, and the team most likely to accept at trade, that Chicago should be calling is the Boston Celtics.
The Bulls should start making moves now to do what they can to get the first overall draft pick, and start their rebuilding now. From a Celtics point of view, this is a win/win situation for them. Not having to take a gamble on a kid coming out of college and wondering if he will be a bust or not, and also not having to deal with the potential of not being able to play right away.
Instead, the Celtics get a piece to add to their already playoff ready roster, and now you have a player in Jimmy Butler who can contribute and succeed in the Celtics environment. Also, with the possibility of Cleveland losing another NBA Finals, LeBron could potentially be on his way out, opening up the East for a new dominant force.
The next team the Chicago Bulls should call, and honestly the last team, is the Los Angeles Lakers.
Mainly because the Bulls need a lot of help on the team. With the team barely making the playoffs this year, and with an heavily aged roster, the team could use multiple younger players who could learn from veterans Dwayne Wade and Rajon Rondo.
The Lakers would love this trade, seeing that there are multiple rumors of having LeBron, Paul George, and even Russell Westbrook potentially leave their teams to go play in LA. But the the addition of Jimmy Butler, this would be able to help the Lakers bring in more players and help them to be a force on the West again.
These two teams would greatly benefit from having traded their picks for Jimmy Butler, and as aforementioned the Bulls would win as well, since they are rebuilding an aged heavy roster.
Who would you like to see trade with the Chicago Bulls and where do you think Jimmy Butler would fit in?
