Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry is already one of the most feared shooters in the NBA, as he lead the league in three-point makes in 2012-13 and 2013-14. In 2014-15, Curry is well on his way to another successful three-point crown.
However, despite his success on the court, Curry hasn’t officially made it yet, and why is that? Well, like most elite NBA superstars you need your own signature shoe, but luckily for Curry that’s about to change.
Under Armour is set to release Curry’s first signature shoe, The Under Armour Steph Curry 1. Curry, who has been with Under Armour since 2013, has been the company’s top basketball spokesman since his deal began, so a signature sole makes perfect sense for the Splash Brother.
Curry joins a slew of other NBA players to receive their first signature shoes this season. At the onset of the 2014-15 campaign, John Wall received his first sneaker from Adidas and Kyrie Irving’s new shoe launched in late December.
The shoe is expected to be released during the All-Star break, but with images of the shoe showing up in a Christmas colorway, it is possible Curry and Under Armour debut the shoe during the team’s Christmas day matchup against the Spurs.
In addition, Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank has also revealed that the company is hard at work on the second and third incarnation’s of the shoe. There is no denying Curry as the NBA’s elite, because once you get a signature shoe, you have truly made it.
