Okay, so full disclosure—I almost skipped writing this because I got stuck replaying The Fire We Breathe’s new video for “Playing With Fire” about 17 times in a row. No regrets. If you’re into hard rock that grooves and punches, this Atlanta-based band needs to be on your radar, like, yesterday.
These guys came together in 2023, and it already feels like they’ve been doing this forever—in the best way. The chemistry is locked in, the energy is insane, and the new track basically sounds like what would happen if a freight train had feelings and also really loved guitar solos.
Leading the charge is Alan Williams on vocals and guitar—his voice cuts through the mix like it knows exactly what it wants to say. Eric Anderson adds fire on the second guitar and backup vocals, while Trey Pittman’s bass tone is so thick it could probably bench press you. And William Shaw? That dude hits drums like he’s personally offended by silence.

“Playing With Fire” is about the bond between bandmates, letting go of the baggage, and actually being present—something most of us are still trying to figure out between lectures and caffeine binges. The video reflects that energy perfectly. No frills, no drama—just four dudes absolutely crushing it in a room, and somehow making that feel like a full-blown event.
This isn’t polished corporate rock. It’s sweaty, loud, and real—and that’s exactly what makes it rule. Watch the video, tell your friends, and go see them live if you get the chance. Bring earplugs (but also maybe don’t—live dangerously).
Check them out at www.thefirewebreathe.com. Thank me later.
