Week four NFL action is going to see a clash of NFC South rivals. The Carolina Panthers will hit the road and head to Georgia, as they will take on the Atlanta Falcons. The Panthers are coming off a shocking defeat at home to the Minnesota Viking, with a score of 22-10. Meanwhile, the Falcons won a Monday night shootout against fellow NFC South member the New Orleans Saints, in a game that ended 45-32.

This game is setting up to be all Panthers, despite taking place in Atlanta. The Panthers entered the season as Super Bowl favorites and have been highly disappointing, starting the year 1-2. But the team still possesses serious talent on both sides of the ball. Last week they went up against the Vikings, who may have the best defense in the league. The Panthers simply were not expecting their offense to struggle as much as they did. Now they get to take on the soft Atlanta defense, which has given up 91 points over the course of three games with vengeance on their minds. Expect Cam Newton to come out firing on all cylinders Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Falcons have been a pleasant surprise this season. The team has opened 2-1, with both of their wins coming on the road. Now they come back home, where the lost their only game. And they are soaring high coming off a divisional win. Given typical NFL logic, coming off such a win and going against another divisional rival this week, the team is likely in for a loss this week.

So I am expecting to be the Panthers show this week. Their defense will ramp up their game, totally stopping the Falcons run game. The offense will get the chance to pick apart the Falcons defense for 30 or so points. And if this does not happen, it is entirely possible the club is simply not as good as they were expected to be.
