ATLANTA, GA — The stage was set for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to capture another landmark win this season.

This time against the No. 12 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. However, things just didn’t go that way for the Yellow Jackets this time around.

The Fighting Irish controlled the game after halftime, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 10 in the second half, resulting in a 31-13 victory on the road.

Georgia Tech would be shorthanded coming into the game, as they would be minus QB Haynes King, and MLB Kyle Efford.

Sophomore quarterback Zach Pyron would make his fourth career start, while a rotation of players would attempt to fill out the hole left in the middle of the defense.

Early in the game, the Yellow Jackets seemed to be playing well without the duo, leading at the end of the first quarter 7-0, while Pyron started 9-9 for 81 yards.

However, the second quarter seen the Fighting Irish take over the game, having possession of the ball for 10:56 of the second quarter.

In that 10:56, the Fighting Irish scored 14 points, by way of two touchdowns, both on the ground by Riley Leonard.

The Yellow Jackets would get in field goal range just before halftime, but the a fumbled snap by theplaceholder would lead to a turnover on downs and a 14-7 lead for the Fighting Irish heading into halftime.

A quick three and out by the Yellow Jackets to start the second half would lead to the Fighting Irish getting a quick score by way of a 1-yard touchdown by Jeremiah Love would put them up 21-7.

From there, the Fighting Irish would gain control and never look back, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 17-6 in the second half.

Up next for the Yellow Jackets will be an away game with rival Virginia Tech on Saturday.
