On Wednesday morning Draymond Green and Jordan Poole went at it, first with words, then a shoving match, and a punch got thrown.

The Golden State Warriors organization made an announcement on Thursday about the incident. Green was apologetic and according to general manager Bob Myers any discipline will get handled internally. Any thoughts of keeping the discipline quiet dissipated this morning though as a video of what happened got leaked to TMZ.

Misinformation also has been reported. One that spoke of the attitude of Poole who is likely going to receive a lucrative contract extension after having a career year. Where he averaged 18.5 points per game, 4 assists, and 3.4 rebounds. He also led the NBA in free throw percentage at 92.5 percent.

Will it come as a surprise that Green gets suspended by the organization? No. Will it last long? Not likely. Back in 2017, former Chicago Bulls forward Bobby Portis punched Nikola Mirotić in the face which resulted in him missing 23 games that season.

As for Poole he was uninjured and he finished practicing. Whether injured or not that does not matter. Four or five games seems like the best number. Obviously still there is only speculation on what possibly got said, to have Green react the way he did. Regardless the team will move forward from this with ease. It also does not mean that Myers is going to have to choose which player will stay and which player will go either.

There also is a saying that says “time heals all wounds.” That is definitely needed to repair the relationship between Green and Poole.

How the situation was handled is also important. The entire Golden State organization held Green accountable for his actions regardless of the video being leaked, did not make excuses for him, and still showed that he is still an important part of the organization.

Lastly if for some reason the Warriors were put in a position to make a choice between Green or Poole, there is an obvious answer here.

Poole is easily replaceable, Green is not.
