On the morning of Friday, April 20, Stillwater Area High School senior, Katie Kelzenberg, and fellow students received much more than their typical morning announcements. Instead, what they heard over the intercom system was an extremely unexpected and special message from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“Good morning to the Stillwater Area High School students! This is, as you might have guessed by now, Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock.”
A week ago, Katie Kelzenberg, took to Twitter to send out a video message asking Johnson to be her prom date. In the video, Kelzenberg is dressed as Johnson and showcases her impressive merch collection. Kelzenberg ends the video holding a poster board that reads, “Dwayne, will you ‘ROCK’ it at prom with me?”

Regretfully, Johnson had to decline the invite because he will be busy in Hawaii shooting his new movie, “Jungle Cruise.” However, Kelzenberg’s effort did not go unrewarded. Johnson showed his appreciation for her courage by renting out an entire 232-seat movie theater for her and all her friends and family to view a special screening of his new movie “Rampage.” Johnson will also be picking up the tab for Kelzenberg and crew to enjoy all the candy, popcorn and soda they want. What a guy!
Johnson has since kept the lines of communication open with Kelzenberg, who he says is his new best friend. On April 20, Johnson sent out a tweet that said, “I’ve been texting with @katiekelzenberg and she’s so excited!! I couldn’t make her prom, but my goal was to still make her Queen of her high school! Have fun this weekend Katie and enjoy RAMPAGE.”
I don’t think even Katie Kelzenberg could smell this one cooking.
