Ever since its release, Guardians Of the Galaxy fans have been dreaming of a Guardians/Avengers team-up. However, if you have been holding your breath it might be time to exhale.
Guardians director James Gunn might have finally put the crossover rumors to rest during a recent interview,
“We really are separate from the Avengers, and I don’t think people should assume too many things about the Guardians play in all these. We have our own galaxy to take care of.
We have our own galaxy to save. Earth is the Avengers’ province. Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it’s going to happen.”
The main thing to take away from this statement is Gunn never officially closed the door on a potential crossover, but rather stated that them coming together perfectly isn’t necessarily going to happen.
You can interpret that quote any way you want, but Gunn never said no, which means there is hope.
