In the world of modeling, there is perhaps no bigger area of importance than landing with the right modeling agency.
For an aspiring model, landing with big-name agencies such as Ford, Elite Model Management and Wilhelmina, is basically considered hitting the big time. As with all things in entertainment, one has be to leery of potential scammers and people making false promises in trying to take advantage of those who are fresh and new to the scenes.
Despite that, the world of modeling has forever been changed thanks to the likes of Ashley Graham, Iskra Lawrence, Bree Warren and other plus-size models, due to agencies such as NYC-based JAG Models and UK-based agencies such as Close Models and Paris-based agency, Agence Plus.
That combined with a more conscious effort within the modeling industry to work with and inspire a new generation of models regardless of size, look and background and magazines promoting more diversity, being a model today is completely different then it was back in it’s 1980’s supermodel heyday.
One person who is helping to make a different is current model and Founder/Owner and CEO of North Bay, Ontario-based YOUnique Models in Amandy Ranger.
A model coach and mentor that helps prospective models build their own portfolio and get discovered, Ranger’s Be YOUnique Models offers mentoring, advice in how to get into the modeling industry as well as scouting and shooting with photographers and potential sponsors.
Ranger, a stunning 5’8 blonde beauty, who has appeared in notable publications such as Models View, Fashion World Models and ModelMania as a cover girl, has worked with notable brands such as GWorld Intimates, Naughty Girl Lingerie, Wetpeach Swimwear, SNS Bikinis and Juicy Ads.
