Jalen Ramsey Dalvin Cook
Jalen Ramsey - Cornerback, Jacksonville Jaguars

While watching Florida State players work out at the Seminoles Pro Day last Tuesday was exciting, the best part of the event might have been talking to Jalen Ramsey about anything and everything. Ramsey talked about his former FSU teammates in an interview with the media from Jacksonville during Pro Day on a wide variety of topics, all geared at making the Jaguars a better team.

Ramsey’s appearance in Tallahassee was to show support for everyone but showed a bit of favoritism toward Dalvin Cook. FSU’s all-time leading rusher would look good in black and teal, according to the former All-American and even came up with his own slogan for the campaign.

“4 at 4,” he said, referring to the Jaguars position in the first round of the NFL Draft and Cook’s jersey number at FSU.

“Just thought that up,” said Ramsey. “”He’s an alpha, a leader in every aspect. You can turn on the film and see everything about the game but what y’all don’t see is how big of an impact he makes on everybody’s job, everybody in the locker room, so that’s why I’m lobbying for him.”

Jalen Ramsey is also in favor of the Jaguars picking up a few more FSU players. More importantly, to help on the offensive side of the ball. He would also like to see the team grab Roderick Johnson to play tackle. Additionally, maybe even add a receiver or two. Kermit Whitfield, Bobo Wilson, and Travis Rudolph would also look good in Jacksonville, according to Ramsey. While he showed some love for the garnet and gold and the idea of making Jacksonville the FSU of the NFL, his praise for Cook is mainly what stood out. His attitude would be a solid addition to the team.

“Just that fire, that determination,” Ramsey said. “That rubs off on everybody. It rubs off on other offensive players. It rubs off on other defensive players.”

Cook was candid with the media after his workout, saying he had been contacted by many NFL teams. While he would not discuss which organizations made a call, he did say he would like to play in Tampa Bay.

“It would be something special,” he said of playing once again with former FSU quarterback Jameis Winston. According to several media outlets, there is a definite interest by the Buccaneers who could take Cook with the 19th overall pick.

The Jaguars own the fourth pick. They are rumored to be interested in either LSU running back Leonard Fournette or Alabama defensive lineman, Jonathan Allen. Cook had been slotted to the Jaguars on several mock draft boards prior to the NFL Combine. After his subpar workout, Cook began slipping to the middle of the first round on many team’s big boards.

Jalen Ramsey is hoping the Jaguars saw enough of Cook’s ability last week. To eventually make the call. Hopefully, to reunite the two Seminole greats. Adding anyone who played at Doak Campbell Stadium would be a good thing.

“Y’all know what the ‘Noles bring,” Ramsey said. “We just need all the ‘Noles. That’s what we need.”
