Brash. Whipsmart. Knowledgeable. Passionate.

These are the adjectives that best describe Boston and their rabid sports fans.

Whether it is going down to Yawkey Way to see their beloved Boston Red Sox over at the TD Waterhouse Garden to watch the Celtics or Bruins or take a short drive out to Foxboro to see the New England Patriots, no single fanbase is as smug, spoiled and proverbially obnoxious about their sports teams than Boston.

And they have every right to be.

Since the turn of the millennium, Boston sports teams have won nine sports championships with the Red Sox (2004, 2007, 2013), Patriots (2002, 2004, 2005, 2015), Bruins (2010) and Celtics (2008)—or 18 percent of all sports titles since 2004, per Eric Randall of Boston Magazine, the most of any city—and the only city to do so in the four major sports.

For all of their many accomplishments in sports and being the long-time cultural home of liberalism in schools such as Harvard, Boston College and Northeastern, Boston is a special place all it’s own.

It is also home to some of Hollywood’s most talented models and actresses such as Uma Thurman, Eliza Dushku, Bridget Moynahan, Chloe Sevigny, Lisa Edelstein, Taylor Schilling and Geena Davis.

Not to say that she is as talented as the forementioned Boston-area bombshells, but model and actress Kim Shire is another Beantown beauty to reckon with.

Despite being 5’2, Shire is one of the hottest freelance models around and is also an actress for the theme-inspired improv acting company, Murder Mystery Company.

Below is my Q and A with Kim as we discuss modeling, acting, her beloved Patriots, a little Tom Brady and what it’s like being married to a New York Giants fan.

R.C. Any New Year’s Resolutions for 2017?

K.S. To stop making resolutions and just wing it! One important thing I’ve learned; I cannot control much.

I am responsible for my own happiness but I can’t make everyone happy so I am going to stop killing my self trying, it’s exhausting!

I am trying to live one day at a time. Oh, but I am going to watch more sports

R.C. Where has been your favorite place to shoot?

K.S. “Really anywhere outdoors, a tropical island would be nice lol. Some have been in parks, on top of a building, my very own tree swing, in a pavilion etc….”

R.C. What is the most exciting aspect of modeling?

K.S. “Getting to wear lots of cool clothes that you may normally not have had the opportunity to try….and you end up loving them! Also, meeting new people.”

R.C. What is the most exciting part of working out and staying in shape?

K.S. “Being able to out plank and out leg lift my husband!!!! No really, I feel better when I exercise, I have more energy and let’s face it, I look better! And when I look better, I feel better and more confident.”

R.C. What fitness and workout tips and tricks do you suggest to keeping in shape?

K.S. “Well, I guess this would depend where you live but if you live here in NE, start raking leaves!!!

Just alternate dominate arm occasionally; great arm and core workout! If you want to step it up, instead of walking, do lunges in between .

For you non-leaf people, just start landscaping n general….it’s called multitasking

R.C. What fashion and style tips and trends do you have for looking good when the temperature drops?

K.S.These boots are made for walking….and that’s just what they’ll do….’ Lol. So definitely some awesome boots; I’m a brunette and like to have super shiny, healthy looking hair that the summer has been rough too.

I try to deep condition often, let my hair air dry whenever I can and getting a trim every 6 weeks, so important This is time of the year I can finally get away with wearing my darker lipsticks, eye shadows and nail polishes! MUST HAVE in Boston….long, warm coat with big hood….has to be stylish/sexy but warm! VS (Victoria’s Secret) has never let me down! Don’t disappoint me….. LOL”

R.C. With winter now here, what are some must-have accessories and fashion tips?

K.S. “Lots of moisturizer! It’s cold and dry here! A moisturizing facial mask 1-2 times a week does wonders for your skin. Ugg boots…woman only please. I personally do not think that is a good look for men; I don’t care how comfortable they are! Long winter coats can be chic while super warm; my favorite is the one I have from Victoria’s Secret with a big faux fur hood.”

R.C. Within the industry, who is your inspiration?

K.S. “Rita Hayworth (actress I know but also pinup), Tyra Banks; I’m aware they are very different but they inspire me for different reasons”

R.C. What is your secret to staying in shape?

K.S. “Not having a landscaper and having kids too lazy to shovel in the winter!! And eating healthy and I like to dance

R.C. Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies?

K.S. “I bet you thought I was going to say “mowing the lawn or shoveling…” Ok, so those, also improv acting for the Murder Mystery Company, redecorating (sometimes even when people don’t request it and they step out for an hour or so….), refinishing furniture, masonry (seriously….I’m not making this up!), dancing; I like to exercise/dance on fitness pole

R.C. Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs?

K.S. “Tough question…here’s the thing, I’m from Boston….so I have to say the Red Sox, but my husband is from New York and he’s a Yankees fan (yes I married him anyway)….so keep that quiet please LOL.

Although, I’m kind of a trouble maker because I went to a Red Sox/Yankees game at Yankee stadium nice place) ….and I was decked out in Red Sox apparel, down to my flip flops!!!! Only one guy harassed me by saying, “hey girl…. you know you’re in NY at Yankees Stadium!!!”

I nicely (but very loudly embarrassing several family members) yelled back, “I know where I am, do you??? You are wearing a hockey jersey!!!” LOL Then I ran…. fast, in flip flops! And of course the Patriots…..I’m a fan, unless they are losing….jk!!

R.C. With the Pats current atop the AFC, how are you feeling about their Super Bowl chances without Gronk?

K.S. The Pats will be OK without Gronk; Belches (Bill Belichick) and Brady have several weeks to adjust their offense and have proven to outsmart/outplay the other team’s despite being down some of their best players.”

R.C. Not to jinx anything, but do you think we are heading towards Pats-Giants Round III in Super Bowl LI?

K.S. My husband, the NY Giants fan, hopes that it will be Patriots vs. Giants in the Super Bowl of course! I can tell he’s a bit nervous though; as he says, “their offense is not consistent enough to win 3 playoff games on the road ”

Personally, I think he’s just saying this so when we (yes, us true New England people) kick his teams butt, he can say, “I knew it”, haha.”

R.C. If the Pats were to beat the Giants in the Super Bowl, how satisfying would that be in beating Eli AND the sight of Goodell handing Brady the Lombardi be?

K.S. It would be awesome to see the Pats beat the Giants! My guess is Goodell may be suddenly sick before the awards and not show! LOL!”

R.C. Brady or Big Papi? Who is the modern-day Boston sports alpha dog, and why?

K.S. Tom Brady is probably the alpha dog because he’s still playing…but Big Papi is more lovable with his mild manor, friendly personality, great nick name and he doesn’t wear Uggs!!! Bonus points

R.C. What are your favorite cities to travel to?

K.S.I haven’t traveled as much as I would like but really liked New York City, New Orleans, Wrigley Field in Chicago was cool, Sarasota, Los Angeles and Phoenix/Sedona”

R.C. What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling?

K.S. “Be careful. Be safe. Help each other.”
