An electronic sport (Esports) is a competitive sport where gamers use their mental and physical abilities to compete in specific genres of video games in a virtual, electronic environment. The first commercial electronic sports game, as well as the first commercially successful arcade game, was Pong, founded in 1972. It was a simulation of table tennis.

The convenience of esports video games is that they can be played across different electronic devices, including mobile phones, PC, consoles, unmanned vehicles, simulations, etc. It offers a platform where esports athletes compete against one another or form teams to compete together against other teams. They can be played virtually or physically.

The popularity of esports is only witnessing an increment over time. It has taken the gaming industry by great revolution. Over the past few years, esports has successfully found an audience of 400 million spectators, or e-spectators, worldwide. In 2018, the revenue of esports industry reached 1.1 billion. Moreover, this figure is expected to increase by 2022 to 2 billion. Research has confirmed that games like Fortnite or Battle Royale can attract up to 350 million payers from around the world.

Adding a unique invention to the  esports platform, Samuel Kijak founded Mazer Gaming, an electronic sport, in 2014 . On February 21, 2021, the organization partnered with a plethora of crypto companies to host Mazer Gaming Gives Back 2. The event was held to enable Bitcoin adoption throughout the stream. It ran giveaways and raised donations for Gamers Outreach. The event was sponsored by Jet Fuel Finance, BTC Manager, and Zebedee. In addition, the giveaways were provided by Start9 Labs, Grinding Coffee Co., and SHamory.

Esports has grown tremendously across the globe during COVID-19 lockdown. Mazer Gaming is an exceptional addition to the sphere of esports.
