Fans of Quentin Tarantino are rejoicing as shooting for Hateful Eight is underway. The film is being shot in Telluride, Colorado, and is expecting to be released this year.
This is Tarantino’s eighth film, and his first since 2012’s Django Unchained. The 51-year-old visionary has directed such films as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, and Inglorious Basterds.
Hateful Eight reunites Tarantino with Samuel L. Jackson, whom has worked with Tarantino on Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, and Jackie Brown. Tarantino also brings in other familiar faces such as Walter Goggins (Django Unchained) and Kurt Russell (Death Proof). However, the biggest name in Hateful Eight comes from Tarantino newbie, Channing Tatum, who plays the films lead role.
Like it’s predecessor, Django Unchained, Hateful Eight is a western, but the film is incredibly different from Django. According to IMDB, Hateful Eight tells the story of bounty hunters in the post-Civil War era looking for shelter during a blizzard, but they get caught in a web of betrayal and deception.
There is always a buzz for Tarantino’s work, and Hateful Eight, with its stellar cast, looks to be shaping up quite nicely. Let’s just hope it’s as good as Tarantino’s other feature films, but it’s a pretty safe bet to say it will be.
