Testing: How MyRecover Works

Our expert reviewers spent hours testing MyRecover to see how well it actually performs and recovers! Let’s take a look at our testing conditions, procedures, and results below.

Test conditions: For our test, we created a folder on the (C:) drive of Windows 10. We purposely deleted or formatted Microsoft Office documents, PDFs, JPGs, PNG images, MP4 videos, and MP3 audio from the test device. After deletion, we downloaded and installed MyRecover and ran the following steps to try to recover these files.

Test procedures:

We ran MyRecover on our computer and then hovered over the (C:) drive where the deleted files were stored. Click Scan.

MyRecover was able to perform a Quick scan and Deep scan efficiently. After displaying the folder tree, we immediately started using the filters and preview features to find the desired files. We quickly found deleted files like MP4 videos and they were all intact.

We select an MP4 video to recover and click Recover x files. Then, choose a new location to save the recovered data to avoid overwriting.

Then, we move to the folder where we saved the MP4 video to see if it can completely recover it. We can see that the videos have been successfully recovered without any loss.

Test results:

The test has confirmed that MyRecover is able to recover deleted files effectively and with a high success rate.

  • Speed: Scanning is fast and thorough, taking about 2-5 minutes, depending on the storage capacity of the device.
  • Recovery rate: Very high success rate for recently deleted files; files lost due to formatting can still be recovered.
  • File integrity: Most videos, documents and images are recovered in their entirety. File names and directory structures are also accurately recovered, which is critical to the organization of recovered data.
