If you are looking an underwhelming Monday Night Football game, week six has you covered. This Monday will see a 1-4 team square off with a 2-3 one. The New York Jets will take their jet plane to the desert and take on the under-achieving Arizona Cardinals club. The Jets have lost three in a row, and none of those games were even close. The latest demolition of the club came in Pittsburgh last week. The Cardinals had a nice easy game last Thursday, as they were given the San Francisco 49ers, and they won 33-21.
Nothing seems to be going right for the Jets these days. Three straight games they have not even been competitive, and now its been announced wide receiver Eric Decker is done for the season. Now Decker has not played the last few weeks, and we all know how that turned out. Ryan Fitzpatrick’s play under center is leaving much to be desired, and even has some fans clamoring to give Geno Smith a chance. You know things are bad when fans actually want to see Geno. On top of all of that, their secondary is brutally bad. That will likely be their downfall once again this week.
The Cardinals came into the season with high hopes. But those hopes were dashed quickly, and the team has not looked that great. They were embarrassed by the Bills a few weeks ago, as Rex Ryan’s defense picked apart Carson Palmer. Speaking of Palmer, he should return to action this week after missing last week with a concussion. The team gets as much rest as any team can possibly get, as they played on Thursday last week and Monday this week. That will only help as the team has had extra time to reinvigorate themselves. Palmer in particular should benefit, and he will be glad to be back for this one. Look for him to hook up with Larry Fitzgerald quite often in this one, as the tandem picks on the poor Jets secondary.
