With the 2016 NFL season on the downhill side, there are several teams that are fighting for playoff spots. Many of the teams that are fighting can clinch, at a minimum a wild-card spot. The only team to clinch a spot thus far is the Dallas Cowboys. Let us take a look at the Week 15 clinching scenarios.

AFC East

New England Patriots

The Patriots can clinch the AFC East with a win or tie over the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon. New England can also clinch the division with a Miami Dolphins loss or tie. To go along with the division the Patriots can also clinch the AFC number 1 seed with a win at Denver. They can also clinch the number one seed with a Miami loss or ties plus a Pittsburgh Steelers loss or tie. The third way that they can clinch the conference is with a Miami loss or tie and a Kansas City Chiefs win.

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders can clinch a playoff berth with a win against the San Diego Chargers. There are 8 other ways that the Raiders can make the playoffs:

  1. Oakland tie plus a Miami Loss
  2. Oakland tie plus a Denver Broncos loss
  3. Oakland tie plus a Miami tie plus a Denver tie
  4. Oakland tie plus a Miami tie plus a Kansas City win
  5. Miami loss plus a Pittsburgh loss or tie plus a Denver loss
  6. Miami loss plus a Pittsburgh loss or tie plus a Kansas City win or tie
  7. Miami loss plus a Baltimore Ravens loss or tie plus a Denver loss
  8. Miami loss plus a Baltimore loss or tie plus a Kansas City win or tie

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs can clinch a playoff berth with a win. There are also 5 other scenarios that can get the Chiefs into the playoffs in week 15:

  1. Kansas City tie plus a Miami loss
  2. Kansas City tie plus a Denver loss or tie
  3. Denver Loss plus a Baltimore loss or tie
  4. Denver loss plus a Pittsburgh loss or tie

Those are all the clinching scenarios for the AFC for week 15 now on to the NFC.

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys have clinched a playoff berth. They can clinch the division and a first-round bye with a win plus a New York Giants loss or tie. They can also clinch it with a Dallas tie and a New York Giants loss. The Cowboys can clinch home-field advantage with a win and a bye the New York Giants and Detroit Lions.

New York Giants

The Giants can clinch a playoff berth with a win, plus a Washington Redskins loss, plus a Minnesota Vikings loss or tie, and plus a Green Bay Packers loss or tie.

NFC North

Detroit Lions

The Lions can clinch the division with a win plus a Green Bay loss or tie. They can also clinch the division with a tie, plus a Green Bay loss, and plus a Minnesota loss or tie.

NFC South

No clinching scenarios

NFC West

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks can win the division with a win or a tie. They also clinch the division with an Arizona loss or tie.
