While few outside the United Kingdom may know her, American audiences will soon become very familiar with the name and face of London-born Christina Chong.
Chong, the daughter of an English woman and Chinese chef, is one of five siblings raised in the north London area of Broxbourne. After training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, she would land roles in movies such as W.E., Johnny English Reborn, Doctor Who, Monroe and Black Mirror.
The 32-year-old would land her big break in season two of the BBC police drama, Line of Duty as Nicola Rogerson before earning her first American-based role in Ridley Scott’s digital five-episode feature series, HALO: Nightfall as Sedran solider Talitha Macer alongside Mike Colter (The Good Wife, AKA Jessica Jones) and in the TV mini-series 24: Live Another Day as Mariana.
Set to appear in the up-coming Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens in an undisclosed role, Chong looks to go from unknown British thespian to talented Hollywood rising star if she plays her cards right.
