After the global pandemic subsided and life began to return to a more normal state, people were eager to return and enjoy some of the “normal” activities they enjoyed before lockdowns and restrictions made that impossible. But unlike other sports, pickleball remained the talk of the town even after the pandemic. It seems that the respite provided by being homebound stoked the interest of millions of people previously unfamiliar with pickleball. People indulged in the sport wholeheartedly, finding it a fun, easy-to-learn, and inexpensive sport. But now, it’s evolved into something even more significant. It has become the undisputed fastest-growing sport in America and around the world.
Pickleball has gained widespread popularity with millions of players, thriving professional leagues, and significant economic impact, making it a remarkable occurrence that shows no signs of disappearing.
Despite its growing name and fame, Karen and her husband John noticed the need for more dedicated apparel for the game. The market was full of clothing for other sports but none that hit the mark for pickleball. As players, they loved the game but wanted better wardrobe options, so they founded their passion project, dink.pro, a pickleball apparel business. “Pickleball has a unique identity and personality”, says Karen. “We didn’t see that personality being expressed in the existing apparel.”
Rescuing fellow pickleball players from a fashion disaster and lack of identity, Karen and her husband have come up with brilliant apparel designs that have been trendsetting and steadily gaining popularity over the web. Added John, “the pickleball league and club scene really jumped on this, they loved to have their name and design look professional, we gave them a great way to accomplish that.”
And they aren’t done! For 2023, they have bigger plans in the pipeline, including the addition of hats, visors, socks and towels to their apparel line. Follow the couple on Instagram and check out their online store now and get to picklin’!
