Coach Scott Frost stayed busy this recruiting season and ended up with the 54th best recruiting class of 2017. Now I know for some of the Power 5 classes, that sounds like a terrible ranking. But UCF has the highest recruiting class of any of the Group of 5 schools. UCF has now signed a 4-star recruit in each of the last 3 seasons, in signing this year’s 4-star recruit Cordarrian Richardson who was originally signed to go to Maryland a Power 5 school, he becomes the highest signed recruit among the group of 5 teams. Scott Frost’s recruiting class is the best recruiting class in the history of the program.
Coming off a 6-7 season including a disappointing showing in the Auto Nation Cure Bowl. The Knights will look to continue to improve since the hiring of Scott Frost. 2017 season will see the Knights having 7 home games this season. Teams that will be traveling to Orlando to take on the knights this season include Maine, FIU, and Georgia Tech. Also will include 4 conference opponents which are Memphis, ECU, UCONN, and USF. UCF will make its first trip to Annapolis Maryland to take on Navy.

Die hard Knights fan Sam Unger from Orlando FL, had this to say about what it will take to consider this season a success. Looking at their schedule, which came out last week, I count 5 games we should be favored in. So, I think winning at least 8 games would be a successful season. We play a solid Georgia Tech team, but it’s at home, so that gives us a fighting chance. We also play two of the tougher teams in the conference (Memphis and USF) at home. The key to improving our record will fall on improving our dreadful offensive line. Tom Brady would have looked terrible behind our line last season. We played many young guys and have some highly touted players that redshirted last season. The hope is that these guys will improve, give the QB more time, and open up holes in the run game.
In conclusion, I agree that the Knights will need to improve the O-Line if they can do that 8 wins should not be out of the question. One thing that Sam did not mention is I will accept 7 wins as a successful season as long as they beat the BOOLS as one of the 7 wins. I think I speak for both of us when I say we despise the bools.
