British Pakistani/Arab boxer Izzadeen Malik El-Amin has called out Indian Olympian Nishant Dev, who recently competed in the 2024 Olympics. Dev suffered a close, split-decision loss against Mexico’s Marco Verde Alvarez, just one win away from securing another medal for India at the Paris Games. Izzadeen has challenged him for a showdown, urging him to turn professional. “Hurry up and turn pro, boy. It’s time to put those small gloves on and show what you’re really made of,” he said in an interview when asked about up-and-coming Indian boxers. Izzadeen extended an invitation for a Pakistan vs India fight, emphasizing that his callout is not about national rivalry but about unity.
“I don’t represent Pakistan or India. I’m a Muslim, and that comes first for me. I’m against nationalism or any injustices committed by either India or Pakistan. Muslims should be treated with respect, just like anyone else in India. This fight is about raising awareness and bringing justice to the wrongs being committed, especially with so many people staying silent about it,” he stated.
When asked about Neeraj Goyat, an experienced Indian fighter, El-Amin recalled, “I remember when Amir Khan was supposed to fight him. Line him up; I’ll make sure he retires. His time is done, and it will be the last you hear of him.” El-Amin, currently undefeated and on a knockout streak, expressed his eagerness to prove himself. “I haven’t had my chance yet, but I’m coming!” he exclaimed.
Neeraj Goyat is a formidable opponent, likely the favorite on paper, having fought at a high level against former world champions. El-Amin, with fewer than 10 professional bouts—most of which ended in knockout victories—has yet to face a real test. Many Indian fans are eager to see this fight, anticipating an opportunity to humble the rising star.
