CLEVELAND, OH — With the 2024 Hall of Fame Game a few days away, and the official start of the season two weeks after that, now is the time to debate who the best quarterbacks in the league are. With my AFC QB Rankings already up, here are my top NFC QB Rankings for the 2024-25 season.

1.) Jared Goff, Detroit Lions: Super Bowl experience, elite NFL arm, the only man not named Joe Burrow, to beat Patrick Mahomes and the perfect man for the resurgence in the Motor City, Jared Goff is the top QB for arguably the top team in the NFC this season!

Complimented by a fast and aggressive defense led by former UM standout in Aiden Hutchinson and a big-play offense that features WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, TE Sam LaPorta and RB Jayhmr Gibbs, Goff is the perfect leader for a team ready to take that final Super Bowl step.

2.) Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers: System QB or force multiplier? Arguably the best anticipation and timing QB in the NFL, Purdy is 1B to Goff’s 1A.

With a possible Aiyuk trade on the horizon, and a looming contract extension, it’ll be real interesting to see how much his bag will be following the massive extension deals that Tua and Love just inked, now we get to see how the former Mr. Irrelevant looks without his fave downfield target.

3.) Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: Two years removed from going toe-to-toe with Mahomes SBLVII, can new OC Kellen Moore help Hurts get over that final hump?

4.) Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys: Love him, hate him! Make no mistake, Dak holds all the cards in Dallas, and as he goes, so does the Cowboys. Contract extension drama aside, Prescott gets one more crack at leading a prolific offense to the Super Bowl. The time for talk is over, as it’s now or never, and by that, I mean in the postseason! #IYKYK

5.) Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams: In what feels may be a last act in LA, the Rams giving the Super Bowl champion QB a contract raise, could mean the end of a brilliant run in SoCal. Don’t be shocked to see Stafford go out guns blazing!

6.) Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers: What’s more to love? How about four years and $220 million! The former Aaron Rodgers understudy appears to be another Acme Packing Company superstar in the making under center.

He would be much higher if not for Hurts, Purdy and Prescott. Now, it’s time to prove it in Titletown.

7.) Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons: Captain Kirk in another dome, in the weakest division in football. No more excuses after getting another big contract and a certain southpaw gunslinger waiting in the wings in Penix Jr.

8.) Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks: New head coach in town. Perhaps it’s not too late to write back those critics, huh? On a serious note, Smith could be a sleeper pick for MVP if he plays up to his true potential what the likes of Metcalf and Smith-Ngjuba on the outside. Watch out!

9.) Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Being a Browns fan, I’ve learned one thing, never bet against No.6! Mayfield, fresh off of a new three-year $100 million deal and armed with a renewed motivation after upsetting the Eagles, is ready to take the next step in leading the Bucs deep into the postseason.

10.) Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears: My highest-rated rookie QB here. I have the former 2022 Heisman Trophy winner rated higher over fellow rookie, Jayden Daniels based on better surrounding talent and more ready to win now.

With WR’s Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, RB D’Andre Swift and DE Montez Sweat holding down a nasty Bears defense, don’t be shocked if Caleb wins ORPTY and leads the Bears to a wildcard berth.

11.) Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders: The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner is slotted SLIGHTLY below his USC-bred predecessor only because of a much tougher division, and the lack of weapons on offense, compared to Williams.

Yes, McLaurin and Dotson don’t quite jump on the page like Odunze, Allen and Moore, but how much you want to bet that the Commie’s front office would love to give their new QB1 a certain explosive Bay Area wideout…

12.) Daniel Jones, New York Giants: Big Blue better pray that Malik Nabers is a lot like the last LSU WR1 that they took, minus the antics and questionable fashion choices at times. Danny Dimes about to be downgraded to Pennywise.

13.) Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals: Hopefully, Mighty Mouse and Maserati Marv are hitting that playbook during training camp, because they got their work cut out for them in a rugged NFC West.

14.) Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints: This may be his last hurrah as an NFL starter if he can’t help the Saints be competitive in arguably the weakest division in the league.

15.) Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers: the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner may need another year in middle school after such an awful rookie year. Hopefully, he packed some Wheaties in that backpack this season!

16.) JJ McCarty, Minnesota Vikings: the former Michigan Wolverine national champion QB is gonna be in for some tough sledding in the Twin Cities in getting to see former UM teammate Aiden Hutchinson twice a year.

McCarty also has to see an ascending Packers squad led by a potential future NFL MVP in Jordan Love under center in Green Bay, and the always tough Bears defense led by Montez Sweat. Justin Jefferson may not be enough, for what may be a rough rookie season.

Thank god for Sam Darnold, right?
