With the announcement that Lea Seydoux is set the become the newest Bond girl, interest in the actress has grown greatly. What many don’t know about Seydoux is she is quite the established movie star already, but nobody  has cared to give her the attention she deserves, until now that is.

Born in Paris, France, Seydoux started her acting career in Europe. Her first film came in 2006 when she was featured in the French film, Mesa copines. In 2009 she was nominated for the Cesar Award for most Promising Actress for her role in The Beautiful Person. During that same year Seydoux was featured in her first American blockbuster, Inglorious Basterds.

After her role in Basterds, Seydoux received numerous other roles in American cinema which included Robin Hood (2010), Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011), Midnight in Paris (2011) and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). While none of these films were ever able to catapult Seydoux into a leading lady, her new title as Madeline Swann in the new James Bond film, Spectre, will do just that.

With Spectre on the horizon, Seydoux’s stock as a legitimate Hollywood actress will only go up. While she doesn’t have any major blockbuster films on the horizon, her new role will go a long way in making her a household name in America.
