The world is moving towards modernization and revolution. Everything is taken by technology in the wink of an eye. The energy industry is also affected by this change. Many developed countries are trying to replace the traditional means of energy-producing resources with unconventional sources, including wind turbines and solar panels.
The research floods the Internet upon this shift from conventional procedures to unconventional systems. Many research studies favor it due to its potential to reduce the environmental carbon footprint. However, the fact that is not being considered by the researchers is that these clean renewables, like wind turbines and solar panels, can only produce electricity and intermittent electricity at best from the available sunshine and cool breezes. But it cannot manufacture any of the essential derivatives of oil that are the foundation of thousands of products that our society needs in its daily life. In addition, the oil derivatives are also important for the economy of countries that would be disrupted if their production is cut down.
Interestingly, even wind turbines and solar panels depend on derivatives made from crude oil. So, these renewables cannot exist without the existence of crude oil. These facts are of valuable importance and must be highlighted before the world completely shifts towards renewable energy.
With the same view, Ronald MI Stein, an engineer, energy consultant, and founder of PTS Advance, investigated the importance of crude oil and its derivatives. Stein is an advocate of green energy and has written several books titled “Just GREEN Electricity – Helping Citizens Understand a World without Fossil Fuels,” “Clean Energy Exploitation – Helping citizens understand the environmental and humanity abuses that support “clean” energy,” and “Energy Made Easy – Helping Citizens become Energy Literature.” He is also an internationally published columnist who frequently writes about all aspects of energy and economics. Being a policy advisor on energy literacy for The HEARTLAND Institute – The Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow, and National TV Commentator – Energy & Infrastructure with Rick Amato – he is a true energy agnostic.
Over the last decade, Stein has become the private business spokesperson for the energy and infrastructure industries. Through his more than 250 published Op-Ed articles, he educates citizens on what and why the energy infrastructures are the primary parameters that truly drive the world’s economies.
According to Stein’s expertise, his thoughts on crude oil are contradictory. His views support the idea that crude oil alone does not have enough worth as compared to when it is manufactured into something more usable like the fuels for the heavy-weight and long-range transportation infrastructures of ships and jets and the derivatives that make the thousands of products used routinely. But wind and solar cannot manufacture anything that can benefit society. Before the world jumps from crude oil without conducting any tests, it needs to be able to support the demands of all today’s infrastructures that did not exist a few hundred years ago.
Stein has also stated that without a backup plan to replace crude oil, ridding the world of crude oil will deprive citizens of more than 6000 products made from oil derivatives and manufactured from crude oil that were non-existent before 1900. It will result in extreme shortages that will turn into billions of fatalities from diseases, malnutrition, and weather-related deaths.
Considering the research conducted by Ronald Stein, the world should highlight the cons of shifting toward renewables along with its pros. His studies have facilitated a lot of other energy agnostics in seeing the picture on a broad prospect. Stein is, without any doubt, an asset to the energy industry.
