COTO DE CAZA, CA — The first of many successful golf tournaments for the 1st and Goal project. Many golfers and veterans from across the country flew in to support all of these Veteran causes giving back to those who served.
The vision of Mr. Dave DesRochers and AnnMarie Ochoa to make this event possible to assist those who have served made this event extra special for attendees. The turnout exceeded expectations as the event was a sellout.
Coto De Caza Golf and Racquet Club was the perfect place to have the event set up. Everyone felt welcomed on the day of the tournament from the staff to make sure their experience was state of the art. The course itself was in fantastic shape as you had to play your best game otherwise the course was going to eat you alive.
The scenery from Windmills, trees, water hazards, and the soft sand bunkers would even make David Hasslehoff appear out of nowhere. The off and on rain tested us on however the Veterans have been much more difficult conditions than what we saw on March 20th.
The greens were rolling pure and fast even with the recent rains that Southern California had experienced. The course will challenge the best of golfers, in addition the scenery will attract the average golfer as the views are astonishing.
The awards dinner at the facility featured Spanish rice with your choice of mouthwatering oxtail beef or ocean fresh seafood.
The Patio overlooking the course is everything you want it to be as you enjoy a California sunset walking off the 18th hole. All the money that was raised went towards MVP-Merging Vets and Players, CarePossible, Patriots and Paws, and the Veterans Legal Institute.

Thousands of dollars were raised through golf, silent auction, live auction, and raffle tickets. The winners of the experiences and items will enjoy those exclusive experiences even more knowing they helped veterans in need.
From Dugout suites at an Angels game to attending a Chargers game at the new SoFi Stadium. The event was an instant success with even more to grow in the coming years, and decades.
