NEW ORLEANS, LA — This past Saturday, Nee Orleans Saints edge rusher Cam Jordan was honored with the Bart Starr award voted by fellow players across the NFL based on performance and character on and off the field.
The Bart Starr award named after the legendary Bart Starr himself just shows how high of an honor this is for the individual that receives this award annually at the Super Bowl Breakfast the Saturday before the Super Bowl.
Steve Jordan, Cam’s father set the example for him at a really young age to be something greater than himself. As we learned from Nick Sirianni this week we can’t be great without the greatness of others.
Jordan lives by this by representing the communities he’s been apart of from the freezing cold of Minnesota at a young age when father Steve spent his professional athletic career with the Minnesota Vikings to college with the University of California Golden Bears and now with the New Orleans, Louisiana community as a representative of the New Orleans Saints, and the National Football League.
As Jordan was honored, with such a prestigious award on Saturday, we had the opportunities to learn more about ourselves and how we can better serve our communities physically, mentally, and spiritually as we are guided to see what happens next to strengthen what’s around us as we represent something greater than ourselves daily.
People have seen how the community of New Orleans is a better community because of what Cam does to make New Orleans a unique and special place no matter where you’re from.
When we think of New Orleans, we think of culture and how the people of New Orleans are proud of their culture. There were many people that visited New Orleans for Super Bowl week that were invited to see what the culture is about.
From what multiple eyes witnessed during Super Bowl Week in New Orleans, everyone sees the benefit Jordan has on the city.
During Cam’s professional career with the Saints he also grew himself as a father, husband, and an overall leader as he continues to serve his community in the days, weeks, months, years, and hopefully decades ahead.
Congratulations to Cam Jordan as his legacy will continue to shine within future recipients of the Bart Starr Award. The next Bart Starr Award winner will be honored at Super Bowl 60 in San Francisco at the Super Bowl Breakfast.
Attendees of the Super Bowl Breakfast not only get to witness the greatness of the next winner of the Bart Starr award, but they can feel something greater than themselves as they may find something to better serve their communities in the future.
Who knows it may be you. Feel free to awaken the unknowns that make us great, He Gets Us overall at the end of the day.
