A battle of 1-3 clubs is set to take place in Miami this week. NFL week five action will pit the Tennessee Titans against the Miami Dolphins. The Titans are coming off a loss on the road in Houston, against a JJ Watt-less Texans team. Meanwhile, the Dolphins continued their mediocre play on the season last Thursday, losing 22-7 to the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Titans have been a hard club to pin down this season. One major positive for the club has been DeMarco Murray, who has been the leading rusher in each of the four games the Titans have played this year. Their only win has come on the road, but it was against the below average Detroit Lions. That win was also only by a single point. But the last two weeks they have been able to stick within one touchdown of their opponents, which is somewhat of a positive sign. They are not getting blown to pieces like some other clubs, and they do possess some talent. Count me as intrigued.
The Dolphins, on the other hand, are a club I was high on to begin the season. However, their offensive line has been non-existent, and it has been making the entire offense look like it has no idea how to play football. Ryan Tannehill looks lost, partially because of the lack of protection, his lineman have been responsible for. Luckily for them, the Titans are not a great pass rushing team, but that does not make me feel any better. They will need to win by more than a field goal in this one, and I simply have a hard time putting my faith in a team that has looked so lost on the field. So as much as I would like to take Miami at home given the confidence I showed in them early, they have reached the point where they need to prove to me they are worthy of laying points, instead of getting them.
