The genre of rock music first emerged from the rock’n’roll movement that took place in the 1940s and 1950s, which was influenced by African-American blues and rhythm from the 1930s as well as country music of the 1920s. Since then, rock music has been constantly changing and developing subgenres that can be found all across the globe.

From the day it was first introduced, rock music has been an integral part of different cultures worldwide and has had both indirect and direct effects on the community and the overall society. Rock music continues to be embraced and loved all around the world because of bands like The Silvers, who have had a great influence on countless individuals all over the planet since its creation.

Different nations and cultures have also contributed to its evolution by developing their distinctive rock sound that reflects their values and heritage. By doing so, rock music has brought people of different cultures together on a common platform.

As rock music is one of the most famous music genres, it is not surprising to see numerous rock bands of the past and of this generation, such as The Silvers, traveling and touring all over the world and having sold-out shows and concerts. The American three-piece rock band, The Silvers, was formed in 2012 in the San Francisco Bay Area by the famous bassist Mick Orton after the critically-acclaimed group Silver Laughter, which he was a part of and broke up in 1979, was inducted into the Iowa R&R Hall of Fame in 2014. Since then, Mick Orton, along with his former band members; Ricky Zero (guitarist), Tom Kelley (guitarist), Glenn Stone (drummer), Drew Youngs (guitarist) and Steve Farac (guitarist), and current members Carl Upthegrove (drummer) and Dain Bedford-Pugh (guitarist), has released 10 albums and multiple Eps, who have a strong Liverpudlian influence.

Apart from their famous songs “You Know You Had It Coming” and “Reaching Out,” the band has also sung and composed a variety of hit single tracks such as “I’m Dancing… Again,” “Gravity,” “All for Nothing,” “Christmas Rock,” “Out of This World,” “Boogie Blue,” “Stay with Me (This is the Place),” “Stand Up,” “Looking Back,” and “Keep on Believing.” Other than these singles, the band has launched numerous popular albums, which include Soul Surrender, Oceans, Back to Basics, RUSHMORE, Change of Seasons, Summertime Sounds, Mosaic EP, Another Summer EP, End of Summer EP, PLAY! and After the Laughter.

The Silvers have also gained popularity for the animated videos and series that they use to present their singles. One such series is Silvers Surf City, which showcases the band stuck on an island with fishes, animals, and creatures that can talk and walk on the land. The pirate, Black Bart, is one of three featured villains in this series, which can be found on YouTube.

Since its formation, the band has been on the receiving end of various awards, such as the Best Rock Album April 2022 by Akademia Music Awards, the Best Rock Music Video by Akademia Music Awards 2022, and the Best Rock Song Award 2022 for “You Know You Had It Coming.”

Rock music has had a significant cultural impact all over the world and continues to do so today, thanks to rock bands such as The Silvers. While many businesses have been making the most commercially from this genre of music and benefitting from its impact, the positive impact it has on society cannot be denied.
