2017 is the first year that Marvel Studios is releasing three films that take place within the MCU. Fans have already been treated to Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2. In a few days, Peter Parker comes home to the MCU when Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters. Then in November, Thor: Ragnarok will close out the year for Marvel.
So while everyone is currently talking about Spidey, let’s shift our attention to the God of Thunder. The first trailer for Ragnarok was released just about three months ago. Before we continue any further, let’s just take a few minutes to enjoy the epicness that is that trailer.
Alright, so do I have your attention again? Awesome, then let’s keep going.
That first trailer gave us plenty of things to digest. We got our first look at the film’s villain, Hela. Cate Blanchett looks like she is going to be a total badass in the role. We got small glimpses of Loki as well as Hulk in the initial trailer. The film’s colorful nature was on full display. We were introduced to other new characters like Grandmaster and Skurge.
So now that we are three months out from that trailer, and about four months from Thor’s new film, it seems like the timing is right for a new trailer. And it just so happens to have the perfect film to debut in front of (remember that Spider-Man film I mentioned earlier)!
This begs the question, what do fans want to see in a new Ragnarok trailer? Well, we just so happen to have a few ideas!
More Hulk!
When fans got their first glimpse of the big green guy at the end of the first trailer, they likely jumped out of their seats in excitement. We have not seen the Hulk since he flew off in the Quinjet at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. That film took place about two years and two months ago. So needless to say, fans want some answers.
Seeing him in Gladiator gear ready to fight his friend from work was a good first step. But now we want more. And not necessarily as the Hulk himself, but as Bruce Banner. Getting some shots of Banner may help explain how he ended up where he did and why he is fighting. Maybe a quick snippet of a conversation between him and our favorite Asgardian.

At the end of the day, anything featuring Hulk/Banner is a plus. This fan is holding out hope that he pops up in a credit scene during Homecoming. But if not, a few seconds in a new Thor trailer would work just as well.
A feel for how big of a role Doctor Strange plays
Now we know the good doctor will be in the film. Thor popped up in a credit scene following Doctor Strange. In said scene, there was talk of Loki and Odin. So we are pretty sure that Strange will help Thor’s efforts to find his father so he can go back home and bring Loki (whom Strange isn’t a fan of) with him.
But as of right now, we have no idea how exactly this trip to Earth plays into the film. In the initial trailer, we see Thor, long hair and all, in a New York looking alley. This is where Hela destroys his magic hammer, Mjolnir. I would imagine this hammer destruction occurs fairly early in the film, especially considering Thor’s haircut hasn’t yet taken place.
The same can be said about Thor’s trip to see Strange. But will Strange be present when Hela shows up? Will Strange be sent on a mission to find Odin while Thor is missing in action? For all we know, Strange will have a five minute extended cameo of sorts. We simply do not know. So it would be nice to get a few seconds of footage with the Doctor in a new trailer.
An idea of The Grandmaster’s motives
Not much is known about the Grandmaster of the MCU to this point. What we do know is that he is considered an Elder and his brother is the Collector. Given those two facts, he is likely someone I wouldn’t want to trust if I were Thor or any of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
The Collector, is on the hunt for the Infinity Stones. Meanwhile, his brother is sitting back and watching fights in his Gladiator style ring. So does he collect beings from across the universe simply to pit them against each other for his own enjoyment? Is he trying to build up an army of sorts? Is he trying to recruit potential bodyguards or fighters to go after the Stones as well?
We need to hear some dialogue coming from Jeff Goldblum’s mouth. Hearing how he speaks and what he speaks of may hint at what it is he is after. Add in a few more shots of him, and maybe, just maybe, we can see how he fits into the bigger picture. He strikes me as a character that is going to be important past this one film, so I for one would like to know what exactly is his driving force.
So there you have it. These three things are ones that any Marvel and MCU fan would love to see in a new Thor: Ragnarok trailer.
