The MLB Playoffs will be in full swing on Friday, October 7th, with all four games on the slate. The first of those four games will take place down in Arlington Texas, as the Toronto Blue Jays will take on the Texas Rangers in game two of the American League Divisional Series.
Game one was not much of a game, as the Blue Jays won the game running away. The Jays jumped all over Texas ace Cole Hamels in the third inning, scoring five runs in the inning. Troy Tulowitzki had the big blow with a three-run triple. In total, the team put together 13 hits and won the game 10-1. Starter Marco Estrada pitched into the ninth inning, striking out six and giving up only one run.
Game two will see the Rangers, who entered the playoffs as the top team in the American League, looking to even the series. If they cannot win game two, the club will have to head north of the border done two games to none and at risk of elimination. The Rangers’ second ace Yu Darvish will take the hill in hopes of turning things around for the AL West champions.
For Toronto, 20 game winner J.A. Happ will take the mound. The former Pirate will look to continue his successful season by getting his post-season off to a solid start in a pivotal game two. While Happ had a great season, the team is powered by their offense, with Wild Card hero Edwin Encarnacion right in the middle of the order. Game one saw Melvin Upton Jr and Jose Bautista both go long, which is a stat the Jays ranked fourth in the Majors this season.
