The 2023 Utah high school football playoffs conclude this week with the remaining three UHSAA classifications crowning their state champions at the University of Utah’s Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. UHSAA Classes 1A-3A and the 8-Man division determined their state title winners last week, and now Classes 4A-6A will play their state championship matchups this Saturday (November 17).

High school football is heading to Rice-Eccles Stadium! During the month of November, the University of Utah will host 4A, 5A and 6A games for the 2023 Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) football championships. Games will be held on two consecutive weekends. Learn more about the 2023 UHSAA games here.

On Thursday, Nov. 9, and Friday, Nov. 10, the stadium will host the semifinal games for the three divisions. Championship games will be held at the stadium on Nov. 17. Campus will likely see traffic congestion during the crossover times, approximately 45 minutes before and after each game. Game start times are listed below. As the campus prepares for this statewide event, everyone needs to be aware of potential parking and transportation impacts and to make the necessary adjustments.

The Cavemen worked their way to midfield on the opening drive of the game before the Falcons forced a punt. Skyridge muffed the punt but managed to hop back on the football to start their first possession of the game. Like the Cavemen, the Falcons ended their first drive with a punt.

American Fork’s second drive ended like its first, a punt to Skyridge. With 4:04 remaining in the first quarter, Falcons quarterback Jackson Stevens hit Trent Call for a touchdown and the game’s first points. The Stevens-Call connection gave Skyridge a 7-0 lead.
