July is always a great month to be a fan of comic book films. Every year, it is the month that is home to Comic-Con San Diego. This year, more specifically this week, Spider-Man: Homecoming will be hitting theaters. Between these two events, fans may be treated to another superhero treat this month as well. A Justice League trailer.
There have been rumors that the next Justice League trailer will give fans a Superman tease. A full trailer description has even leaked online. If it proves to be true, it does sound pretty darn awesome. But the point is, the talk of a new trailer got me thinking.
It has been a few months since we have gotten any trailers from the upcoming Warner Brothers film. With Spider-Man set to swing into theaters, about four months before the November 17th release of JL, it seems like a good time to drop a final trailer.
With a film as big as Spidey, there will surely be new trailers being released. Fans can likely expect one for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as there is the Disney connection between the two films. So why would a trailer featuring the likes of Batman and Aquaman fit?
Well, given films like to include their trailers on films that would have a similar audience, putting a superhero film trailer on another comic related film simply makes sense. It does not matter that DC and Marvel are seen as rivals. Their films contain trailers to each other’s films all the time.
However, with Comic-Con just a few more weeks away, it is not like WB needs to feel like its a must to include the tease on Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster. My gut tells me the studio will hold back and keep fans in suspense for a couple more weeks. After two weeks, once some of the Spidey buzz dies down, they can take the comic world by storm by dropping the Superman bombshell on fans.
What do you think? Will there be a Justice League trailer connected to Spider-Man: Homecoming later this week? Tell us in the comments!
