We may be on the verge of seeing a former WWE and WCW superstar make a return in the next few weeks.

There are people close to the situation between the WWE and Goldberg that are saying we may see the former WCW superstar make his return to WWE at the WWE’s Raw exclusive PPV Clash of Champions. Goldberg returning to WWE has been a thought of for a long time. However, the idea of him returning to WWE became more apparent when it was revealed that Goldberg would be part of the upcoming WWE 2k17 that comes out in October. These rumors became bigger because he will be in Indianapolis the weekend of the event.

I find interesting that he would make his first appearance on the league’s programming in over ten years on a PPV that is not one of the big four events where both brands are on there. However, it is interesting to see where WWE is planning on going with bringing him back.

According to the International Business Times UK, WWE is kicking around the idea of having a major fatal four-way match at Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando. As the article goes, this match would consist of the Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, and Sting. If that happens to be the match, then I don’t understand what WWE is doing. So basically they would have a match that has two wrestlers over the age of 50 in Undertake and Sting, a wrestler who has not had a professional wrestling match in over ten years in Goldberg, and Brock Lesnar.

The last time Goldberg had a match was against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 20. If we do so happen to see Goldberg back on the league’s programming during the Clash of Champions, it will make it a worthy PPV to watch and WWE will probably see an increase in WWE Network subscribers if he does return. What will be interesting to see is how WWE brings him back for the event.
