Well, a great career in the NFL looks to be ending. Reports are that Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo is calling it a career. He is going to be pursuing an opportunity in broadcasting. This is the end of a remarkable career. Here is a look back.
Tony Romo was an undrafted player out of Eastern Illinois University. Romo gained intrigue during the 2003 Scouting Combine. Therefore, throughout the entire draft process, Romo gained the interest of several teams. Consequently, Mike Shanahan intensely went after Romo. However, one team remained constant in their pursuit. At last, that was the Dallas Cowboys.
Antonio Ramiro Romo, better known as Tony, burst on the NFL scene in 2006. He appeared in an October 15 game against the Houston Texans. The following week he replaced Drew Bledsoe in the second half of a game against the New York Giants. Two days later, then Head Coach Bill Parcells, named Romo the starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys and the rest was history.
Romo’s career spanned 14 years. He compiled a record of 80 win and 53 losses. His 33,626 passing yards is a Cowboy best.

Even though Tony Romo had an exceptional career, there is one thing that will haunt him. For instance, his post-season demise. He has a career record of 2-4 with no; yes, I said NO, Super Bowl appearances. His lack of big game prowess may be how he is remembered.
Tony Romo had a great career. There is no denying that. It is hard to say that he will not eventually make it to the Hall of Fame. Given that, his regular season play warrants it. However, his lack of post-season play will prolong his entry. Goodbye Tony Romo! We will see you behind the headset.
