Baltimore Ravens draft needs
Here are 9 players I think the Baltimore Ravens could consider in Round 1 of the 2017 NFL Draft and their Top 3 Positional Needs.

Outside Linebacker (EDGE)

Derek Barnett- Tennessee

A productive pass rusher who set records during his collegiate career, Derek Barnett out of Tennessee was just as productive or even more prolific than Texas A&M’s pass rusher Myles Garrett, the consensus #1 overall pick in this years NFL Draft. Barnett at 6’3″ 259 lbs. does not look imposing as a pass rusher. Regardless, he is an edge bender and that resulted in high sack totals. Therefore he could make a similar impact for a team in the NFL. Also, he is not the most athletic edge rusher but still gets to the quarterback regardless. I definitely can see great value in this pick if Barnett were available at 16. Even more, he would be seen as a needed selection for replacing aging veterans. For example, Suggs and Dumervil at edge rusher.

Takkarist McKinley- UCLA

A raw but explosive pass rusher, Takkarist McKinley could be the high motor pass rusher Ozzie Newsome would target at pick 16. At 6’2″ 250 lbs., McKinley has incredible burst and quickness. However, he does play at a high pad level. His lack of edge rushing moves limit his ability to get to the quarterback other than speed. Also, he did have shoulder surgery but is expected to be healthy after 5-6 months. Consequently, he did play through his injury for a few years. It is risky for the Baltimore Ravens to take him. Although, it would depend on if they are comfortable with his medicals. Also, do they expect him to be ready by pre-season?

Charles Harris- Missouri

The next high potential pass rusher that was underutilized in Missouri, Charles Harris. He could fit the mold of a Ravens edge rusher with his effort on the field. At 6’3″ 253 lbs., Harris could be a nice a contributor in year 1 starting next to Suggs and to replace Dumervil. Also, he utilizes various pass rushing moves and speed to power burst to get to the quarterback but has to refine technique more at the next level and is not the rangiest edge rusher with his athleticism.
