Pitt (+7.5) vs UNC
Away from Chapel Hill, you never know what you’ll get out of the Tar Heels but you best believe the plan will be a lot like their first meeting with Pitt, pound it inside. In the 19 point victory, UNC had four starters score in double digits and shot 59%. More importantly the Heels made 8 three pointers in that game.
I don’t see the same today. UNC wins but it will be much closer than the first meeting.
Pitt +7.5
Duke (-2) vs Notre Dame
This very well could be the game of the day and well as the highest scoring game. Depth will be the key for the Blue Devils. Can they come off a tough game, which included a Plumlee broken nose and have enough to keep up with Notre Dame’s quick pace. Key stat for both teams will be 3 pointers made. The Irish and Blue Devils get a lot of secondary effectiveness because of their perimeter shooting. Also, who on Notre Dame will have the toughest match up in the conference, guarding Brandon Ingram
Notre Dame +2
Georgia Tech (+10) vs Virginia
Who doesn’t love how Georgia Tech has played lately going 8-2 in their last ten? Also they own an early season win against UVA back with the Cavaliers were struggling. This should be a competitive game if Georgia Tech doesn’t hit a second half scoring lull.
UVA has been cover monsters in their last 10 (8-2 ATS) but are 1-1 when they are double digit favorites. Yellow Jackets will probably lose against a well-rested UVA team but keep an eye on the score going into the last 3 minutes. This game wreaks of a backdoor cover.
Georgia Tech +10
Virginia Tech (+8) vs Miami (Fl)
Virginia Tech might very well be the defacto home team in DC. The area is full of alumni that are willing to try and fill up Verizon Center. The Hokies and Canes split their two meetings this season. The Hokies have played really well lately but the old adage of defense travels will come into play tonight. Expect the Hokies to have the ‘home’ back but for Miami to win. Again, this could be a backdoor game either way.
Virginia Tech +8
