Best gadgets in the UK, 2019

2019 has been one of the best years for tech geeks in recent memory. With the holiday season around the corner, I decided to share the three devices that will be topping my Christmas list this year.

Google Stadia

The last time a new company entered the home console market was when Microsoft released the Xbox in 2001. Since then, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft have enjoyed a monopoly on home video gaming consoles.

This year, Google looks likely to upset the status quo; The Google Stadia looks set to change the way we play video games forever.

Currently, we play games stored on physical media on powerful consoles that plug into our televisions. The Google Stadia, however, is designed to be a console for anyone, everywhere. It requires no physical media. Instead, Stadia runs games off Google’s own servers and streams them over the internet. This means you can play on any screen connected to the internet including your desktop, tablet and mobile phone.

One of the main advantages is that you no longer have to wait to download and install games. Similar to Netflix and Spotify, the games stream instantaneously.

The allure of the Google Stadia will, of course, depend on its lineup of games. Luckily, Stadia does not disappoint. Already it has an impressive AAA library including Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy XV and Assassins Creed.

Crafty Plus Herb Vaporizer

In the UK, we have begun to buy  dry herb vaporizers in increasing volumes as we become better educated on the dangers of smoking. As a result, the best vaporizer manufacturers are investing millions in creating technologically advanced vaporizing devices. In 2019, there is no better example of this than the Crafty Plus vaporizer.

The Crafty Plus is the latest device from vaping legends, Storz and Bickel and is a nice addition to a lineup that includes the Mighty, Plenty and Volcano.

This model has an improved cooled air-flow and a larger, more impressive battery.

Instead of being powered by conduction and convection, The Crafty Plus implements hybrid heating which has been proven to be the most efficient method of extraction.

If you’re in the market for an herbal vaporizer this year, then you can do no wrong going with 2019’s Crafty Plus.

Ambassador Translator

In the UK, less than 10% of us are bilingual. This is poor when compared to our European cousins; of which 25% speak three languages or more!

This can make it difficult for UK citizens to do business in other countries.

To help, Waverly Labs have invented a device that automatically translates audio as you speak.

Best of all, it appears to be very easy to use too. All you do is attach one to your ear, and give the other to the foreign person you’re speaking to. Then all you have to do is speak! The Waverly Ambassador Translator will then play the correct translation in both of your ears without skipping a beat!

Currently, the Ambassador Translator is not yet available to purchase in shops. However, if you visit its page on Indiegogo it is still possible to get hold of an early-access version
