Georgetown (+11) vs Villanova
The Hoyas welcomed back Bradley Hayes last night and he had a solid 10 points, 7 rebound night in a dominant win over DePaul. Today they face a different beast in Big East regular season champ, Villanova. When looking at this game, toss out the last meeting (13 point Villanova victory).
This one will resemble more of the first game if Peak continues to play well and Tre Campbell avoids another 0-fer from the floor.
Georgetown +11
Butler (-3.5) vs Providence
Butler has covered the spread in 8 of their last 10 but today’s big question is what are you going to get out of Providence? What started out as a promising season has turned into an up and down rollercoaster. They are 5-5 in their last ten as it looks like Dunn/Bentil’s supporting cast isn’t holding up their end of the bargain.
The bright lights of New York might be what Providence needs to jump start their average play.
Providence +3.5
Marquette (+10) vs Xavier
Xavier has been defensively challenged in their last three games and Marquette has the ability to score points in long stretches. You wonder why would be favored by double digits against a team that hasn’t scored they didn’t beat by double digits this season. It looks like it could be the “tired legs” angle that people are playing.
Marquette will need more than just a big game from Ellenson. The will also need big nights from Johnson and Cheatham. As much as I like Wojo as a coach, Xavier runs away late with this one.
Xavier -10
Creighton (+3) vs Seton Hall
This is a tale of two teams going in different directions. Seton Hall has won 4 out of their last 5 with the only loss coming to Butler but includes a win of Xavier. Creighton hasn’t been as fortunate. They have lost 4 out of their last 5 with their only victory coming over lowly St. John’s.
The one thing Creighton has is a victory at Seton Hall earlier in the season. Seton Hall responded three weeks later by going to Creighton and beating them by 10.
Seton Hall -3
