There have been many infamous James Bond villains over the years. That list has grew a bit longer with news of Guardian of The Galaxy’s Dave Bautista, landing the role of bad guy, Hinx in Bond 24.
When the studio’s casting call for the role leaked a few weeks ago, it gave a pretty good description of who they hoped to find for the role.
Hinx (Male, 30 – 45) – Ideally over 6′ 2″. Hinx is the main henchman/assassin. We are looking for an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background.
Bautista is absolutely the right choice for Hinx, as he effectively displays all of the attributes the studio is seeking.
Standing 6’6 and weighing over 260 lbs, Bautista is certainly imposing and is in incredible shape. He also posses a career in fighting as well, evident by his days in WWE and MMA.
Bautista is no stranger to being the muscle in the films he plays. As he did in Marvel’s breakout blockbuster in the role of Drax, a killer bent on revenge.
Some other films the actor has appeared in include The Man With The Iron Fists and Riddick.
Bond 24 is slated to start filming in December, and Daniel Craig will reprise his role as the titular character. The film will be directed by Sam Mendes, whom also directed the franchise’s one-billion dollar blockbuster, Skyfall.
