Well folks, according to Ryan Reynolds, “it’s chimichanga time”. That’s good news for Deadpool fans, because that means that Reynolds is closing the deal to play “The Merc with a Mouth”.
Variety reports that Reynolds shared the news with his followers on Twitter with a tweet saying, “Uh… It’s chimichanga time”. Of course Deadpool fans should be familiar with Deadpool’s love of chimichangas, so it seems a fitting way to break the news.
Reynolds originally played Deadpool’s alter ego, Wade Wilson, in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. There had been speculation Sony would do a spinoff featuring Deadpool in a standalone movie, which finally came to fruition when it was announced the movie is set to be released Feb. 12th of 2016.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick penned the script for Deadpool, which will be directed by Tim Miller. Miller is one of the creators of Blur Studios, who were responsible for the test footage that made it’s way onto the internet July 29th of 2014.
Initially the studio was trying to bring this movie in with a PG-13 rating, but with any amount of bloody carnage it will likely find itself with an R rating. This will likely be just fine with Deadpool fans, since most realize the level of violence and gore that are associated with the character.
Now the wait is on, for fans all over the world, for that day when Deadpool finally makes it to the big screen and breaks the fourth wall…true fans know what I mean.
