Whether you are peddling a screenplay to a producer, auditioning for a pilot or simply fresh of the bus chasing your dreams of being Hollywood’s next big thing, there are many different stories and backgrounds that clash and cross pathes in this go-go city.
Like all things L.A. people are all about looking and felling good, most of all being fit. Whether it is doing barbells and pushups on Muscle Venice Beach or just soaking up the warm SoCal sun, Los Angeles is one of the top—and healthiest fitness meccas in the United States.
One fellow Angeleno looking to make a name for herself in the fitness and modeling world is Veronica Aandre.
Aandre, who has modeled for various lingerie and gym sportswear and sportswear brands, has made a name for herself in the fitness and modeling world.
Despite being 5’1, Aandre is a head-turner in and out of the gym thanks a toned and petite frame with curves to spare. Below is my Q and A with Ms. Veronica Aandre as we discuss fitness, working out and how to look great this coming summer.

Robert D. Cobb: What brands have you modeled for? Which one do you enjoy modeling for the most?
Veronica Aandre: “Many, mostly lingerie and sportswear. I most enjoy modeling gym clothing.”
Robert D. Cobb: Where has been your favorite place to shoot?
Veronica Aandre: “Outdoors on the beach. The beaches of Hawaii are my favorite. The water is warm, while the temperature is not sticky and humid.”
Robert D. Cobb: What is the most exciting aspect of modeling?
Veronica Aandre: “Traveling and meeting a variety of people. Every now and then I will meet someone whom I will have amazing chemistry with. Artistic ideas just bounce off the walls. It’s beautiful.
Robert D. Cobb: With fitness bikini modeling becoming more popular thanks to social media platforms like Instagram, what are your thoughts on how it can be in creating a positive body image for women?
Veronica Aandre: “The platform creates a positive body image by connecting people who are on similar journeys. Transformation pictures are easily accessible and inspiring.”
Robert D. Cobb: What are your thoughts on “fit-shamers”
Veronica Aandre: “The word fit has a different meaning to every person as being healthy and fit is a personal journey. Do not listen to fit-shamers. This is easier said than done as it can be so easy to think of a negative comment as true. Fit-shamers are not on your personal journey and do not know what you go through every day to stay on track. Stay positive.”
Robert D. Cobb: I’ve noticed online, that a lot of women tend to be shaming others for being too fit, too fat, too pretty/promiscuous, as a woman, what are your thoughts on this and how can it be addressed?
Veronica Aandre: “Again, do not listen to negative comments that come your way. Stay focused on yourself. Women should support one another. There is no need to tear each other apart.”
Robert D. Cobb: What is the most exciting part of working out and staying in shape?
Veronica Aandre: “Eating. I love food. There are many aspects of working out that I would consider to be exciting. This includes waking up and noticing changes on my body (new muscles), as well as the feeling that comes after finishing a workout for the day. The most exciting part is the feeling of bliss when I reach a goal.”
Robert D. Cobb: What motivates you to succeed?
Veronica Aandre: “Myself. I am very hard on myself so I always have goal to work towards to keep myself moving forward. I love to work. Even in retirement, I plan on working. For me to be happy, I must be creating and learning.”
Robert D. Cobb: What is your opinion of the growth and popularity of “athleisure” Fitness or fashion fad?
Veronica Aandre: “I understand the appeal. It is much more comfortable than wearing jeans.”
Robert D. Cobb: What fitness and workout tips and tricks do you suggest to keeping in shape?
Veronica Aandre: “If you want cake, go ahead and eat cake. Just remember to put in the work. If you absolutely do not have time, workout for at least 30 minutes 3 times per week. 20 minutes weights, 10 minutes cardio.”
Robert D. Cobb: With summer right around the corner, what tips do you have for looking great on the beach?
Veronica Aandre: “Stay active and hydrated. A Saraong to match your bikini when walking around or crochet cover up.”
Robert D. Cobb: What swimwear trends and styles do you recommend for looking hot, confident and sexy
Veronica Aandre: “As for swimwear trends for 2017, You will be seeing a lot of cactus and pineapple print.Flouncy over the shoulder bikini tops are a big trend this year as well as high waist swim.”
Robert D. Cobb: Within the industry, who is your inspiration?
Veronica Aandre: “My coach inspires me as she has two kids, multiple business, and still has an amazing body.”
Robert D. Cobb: What is your secret to staying in shape?
Veronica Aandre: “It is not a secret. I am on meal prep every day and lift weights 6 times per week. It takes both nutrition and fitness in order to really make changes in your body.”
Robert D. Cobb: Describe your daily workout routine?
Veronica Aandre: “30 minutes fasted cardio upon waking. In the evening, I lift weights for 1 hour 30 minutes. Finish off with 30 minutes of cardio. End with an AB circuit every other day.”
Robert D. Cobb: Outside of modeling and working out, what are your hobbies?
Veronica Aandre: “I own my own business, so I work every single day and travel a lot. When I am not working, I am modeling or training. Modeling and Training (working out) are my hobbies besides hitting the slopes during the winter.”
Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs
Veronica Aandre: “I enjoy watching all sports, but my favorite sport is hockey. will always be an Anaheim Ducks fan.”
Robert D. Cobb: What are your favorite cities to travel to?
Veronica Aandre: “New York City is my absolute favorite. Singapore for the street food and high tea. Honolulu for beaches and Mai Tai hopping.”
Robert D. Cobb: What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into fitness modeling?
Veronica Aandre: “Get involved in the industry. Make friends and network. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Keep grinding. Stay focused.”
