As the clock struck 2:00 AM and then instantaneously jumped to 3:00 AM on Sunday morning, some may have heard a sound similar to wolves baying at the moon.  That sound was actually excited horror fans howling with excitement that they had just skipped over one whole hour and were drawn just that much closer to the start of HorrorHound Weekend, which will be held at the Sharonville Convention Center from (Friday) March 18th until (Sunday) March 20th.

HorrorHound Weekend brings together celebrities from the horror film industry, musicians and bands influenced by said movies, horror artists and vendors…I hope you’re seeing the pattern here – pretty much anybody or anything that represents horror film culture could be found at this convention.

This years lineup features guests who have appeared in classic horror films like The Shining, Friday the 13th, and Halloween as well as some who have appeared in TV shows like The Walking Dead, The X-Files, and American Horror Story. Of course the “Belle of the Ball”, at least in my opinion, is Elvira – Mistress of the Dark… aaahhhhh, my hearts on fire for Elvira. Sorry… enough of that…FOCUS! There will be various guest panels, Dr. Lady’s Horrors of Cosplay Contest, The HorrorHound Film Festival, the “NightTerrors” Concert featuring  The Heathens, For the Wolf, The Big Bad, Argyle Goolsby, and Psycho Charger…tell you what, just follow the HorrorHound Weekend link to find out everything that will be happening this coming weekend and maybe even snag yourself some tickets before it’s too late.

Horrorhound Magazine has organized conventions like this for over a decade, in hopes of uniting horror fans with the people who have helped to bring them the movies they love. Every year they make a concerted effort to out do themselves with the quality of guest and vendors they invite to their Spring and Fall horror celebrations. I don’t know about anybody else, but I have not yet been met with disappointment where my HorrorHound Weekend experiences are concerned.

Just one last little warning. As the doors open on Friday at the convention center, if any guests hear the horrid, guttural cries of a beast – fear not as it’s only me, in neighboring Indiana, woefully wishing I could be there to join you all in the festivities. I always meet such wonderful people and usually leave having made  a few new friends. Everybody in attendance please be safe and enjoy yourselves and I hope to see you in September.
